SCOUTING FOR FOOD 2018!

Hello Scouting Families,

Troop 125 will be participating again this year in the Boy Scouts' annual tradition of collecting food for families who are less fortunate.

This year,  all food collected will be donated to Gleaners at the Troy Scout Shop drop off site.  There is NO SORTING this year.

We would like every scout to participate in this program.

Scouting for Food Results

Thank you to the Scouts and parents who helped make this another very successful year for Scouting For Food!

Special thanks to Josh Arango for also organizing the snacks and sending out good reminders!

We collected (and sorted) about 145 bags which weighed in at 1,024 pounds of food for the Rochester Area Neighborhood House Food Pantry.

SE Michigan total SFF collection is about 225,000 pounds of food!

Thank you again to everyone for their time and service.

Sincerely,

Carla Kamp

Scouting for Food 2017: correction/confirmation

Hello Scouting Families,

Just to confirm the bag drop off time for Wed Nov 8th is 4:30 -6:30pm as noted in the Sign-Up Genius.

It was inadvertently mis-noted as 6-7:30pm in the Troop Calendar and the recent "This Week in Trop 125" blog.

(There is still room to help if you are able and interested.  See prior blog for Sign Up genius link with the details)

Thank you,  Carla Kamp

Scouting For Food results

Scouting Families,

Thank you to everyone who helped make this another very successful year for Scouting For Food! Special thanks to Luke Fenchak for also organizing the snacks!

Between 30 scouts and 11 parents, we distributed about 750 bags Wednesday and then, on Saturday, collected (and sorted!) 860 pounds of food - that’s about 145 bags! The food was donated to the Rochester Area Neighborhood House Food Pantry.

As the SE Michigan SFF coordinator noted, that’s a lot of good that results from people working together for just 4 hours.
